You can't be that stupid. I have more faith in you than you do. We've been through this, but one more time.
The Amendment is very clear about being armed EQUAL to what the gov't might use against the people if they turned tyrannical.
Jump forward to today. A rogue gov't would NOT likely use tanks, grenade launchers, or nuclear weapons in a civil insurgence, but they WOULD use semi-automatic rifles, hence, the amendment applies directly to these kinds of weapons today and protects that RIGHT for every citizen who is law-abiding.
The key is PUNISHMENT when someone is NOT law-abiding, rather than the common left position of nice jails, college degrees, right to sue, early release, rehabilitation, no death penalty, etc. These things are fine for NON-VIOLENT crime, but violent criminals who use firearms, or ANYTHING, should be treated as the rabid animals they are and put down to protect society.
