When you try to buy ask or higher, your wholesaler (scottrade = NIGHT for this stock) will "try and get you the best deal", so they will fill the lowest bid (or lowest bid at night as sometimes they offset both sides to skim (IMO). THe bid at the lower proce is a bidwhacker escaping a trade. They see a bid and sell at that price because they are bailing.
