2.5 million in PTSC revenue would stink in my opinion for several reasons. It would mean only $6-7 million in license fees from Oracle, UTC and Barco. First of all Oracle (owns Sun Microsystems) and UTC are some of the largest tech companies to license the MMP. If they do not infringe I do not know who does. UTC primarily uses microprocessors and Oracles Sun Microsystems makes a lot of them. Downstream and upstream licensing strategy comes into play either way with these 2 licensees and I darn well expect one way or the other to pay. Also, if we needed more pressure such as a completed positive Markman ruling to extract a better license fee why would TPL not just wait a month until after the scheduled hearing? I know there was a risk the second Markman hearing would not go well for us and TPL wanted to make some coin just in case but there also was a risk for Oracle and UTC that it would go well and increase the license fee. Maybe it does not work that way at all with license pricing who knows. With regard to Barco, although they are a "small" company with only 1 billion in revenue last year they hung us up in court for 4 years in a case they started against TPL/PTSC who were the DEFENDANTS. If they paid next to nothing after all that garbage it would be very disappointing.
