I believe you are viewing this a bit backwards - and I applaud you for your effort. I was there as well.

I'll label the last impulse wave up for you with numbers shortly. But to address your question, remember those numbers are referring to the first move WITHIN the correction pattern. Move A. Here is the important bit - only a zigzag correction pattern has a 5 wave move down for move A. Because this is a correction pattern, this move A counts as an IMPULSE wave downward (because it is a 5 wave move), but it is important to realize this is part of a correction, and the end of the 5 wave move marks the end of Wave A of the correction.

If the time horizon is reduced, perhaps to say 20 minutes, or 1 hour, I felt the waves are defined well enough to consider them waves. I will check again just to make sure since I may have become lost in the details over these days, but I am fairly certain I checked and re-checked at least 10 times.
