Oh and one more thing, I'm not sure what the rules are for this but the following made sense to me.

As you said the 3rd wave cannot be the shortest. At first, even if you don't know internal structures of wave patterns, what I label the 3rd wave seems shorter than the rest.

However, remember the gap is not being taken into account in the candle that we see. If I take the gap into account the 3rd wave is indeed at least not the shortest wave.
