There are foreign issues traded over here all the time. It will likely have a symbol that trades over here in American Depository shares that accounts for the foreign shares. There will likely be a five letter symbol that verifies the position here and needs to be traded on the OTC Agency desk (handling foreign shares) at any reputable firm.

As an example, go the ASX (Australian exchange) and look at Peak Resouces(Aussie symbol -PEK) a mining company. Now go to Yahoo Finance and type in Peak Resources, and you will get PKRLY. Any decent firm will be able to buy and sell PEAK resources utilizing that five letter symbol or one they devise on their own to enter buy and sell orders. Not a very difficult thing, whatsoever. IMO
