What you say is true of the Republic of the united States, but that was gradually set aside in 1867-1871.
The offices of de jure government are essentially vacant. (although there is currently several movements to fill them once again)
What took over is a corporation called the UNITED STATES, INC.
By considering yourself a U.S. citizen, using Zip Code and State abbreviations like PA, NY, RI etc, you effectively state;
1.) You reside within the Federal municipal corporate territory.
2.) Are domiciled within the District of Columbia.
3.) Are NOT an American national, aka state Citizen.
4.) You are NOT entitled to those Rights secured by the constitution and are a subject of the corporation.
I'm afraid people haven't kept up with the laws determining the state of their civil status for 150 years or so.

There no arguing its existence. It's the very Senate record itself.
You live in a dream world and state of confusion regarding your status that is very intentional fraught upon us.
You don't see it directly till you find yourself in a Court, baffled cuz nothing you say counts cuz you have the wrong venue.
