U.S., China fight over audits of companies in China, WSJ reports
As U.S. regulators and Chinese authorities battle over the right to oversee audits of companies in China, a number of U.S. multinational firms could suffer collateral damage, reports the Wall Street Journal. If the SEC prevails, the firms could be banned from auditing dozens of Chinese companies listed on U.S. markets. An SEC victory also could affect U.S. multinationals like Apple (AAPL), Qualcomm (QCOM) and Kimberly-Clark Corp. (KMB) that have major Chinese operations.
