You are right, this is a new revelation:

Hoyos said during his speed runs the car will need about a gallon of combustible fuel, such as gasoline, and a gallon of water. The fuel heats the water and the steam powers the engine.

He said using the miles per gallon formula, this engine could power a street car 200 miles on one gallon of gas. The engine was developed in this age of finding and refining alternative energy and power sources.



Holy cow, this is a major game changer, if true. High speeds AND amazing fuel economy capabilities?

Hope this fact gets developed further, tested and broadcast with every LSR run the Steamliner does.
