As they stated in the PR, shipping would be begin "the week of the 10th". Technically, that meant that shipping might not even begin until tomorrow. However, they came out and said they had begun to ship product on Wednesday. But that doesn't mean every single order was shipped out in a day -- remember, they are shipping product to retailers too, not just the orders received on their website.

I really don't know why some of you expected to receive the product literally 1 or 2 days after the soonest possible shipping date.

Anyway, I hope it arrives in time for you to give one to your friend.
