I just sent an email to Ben and Kim which goes like this:

Hello,
I am writing to you to express my disappointment on a recent article published by Crain's Detroit Business. I, along with other shareholders, do not understand the purpose of the article, if there was one. Comments like

"He said he is in discussions with a foreign company about such a merger but declined to discuss further details because of a nondisclosure agreement, other than to say no announcement is imminent."

or

"Thompson thinks 2013 will be the year for commercializing the product."

have not gone down well with the investors. It would have been a different case had the investors been informed directly by Kim Thompson that, after saying all along that 2012 is the year, any commercialization (if any) will only begin in 2013. The shareholders feel that the CEO is using the NDA excuse to hide the lack of developments. If the NDA does not prevent the CEO from giving an interview to some website, how does it prevent him from providing an update directly to the shareholders.

The bottom line is that most of the shareholders are getting frustrated and need continuous communication from the company. This is the least the company can do. I really hope that the CEO and the company will start acting in a responsible manner, stop giving meaningless interviews, and start to communicate with the shareholders more often.
