Since there seems to be no PR so far today,let me post this TRUE FASC related incident. I recently wrote to a FASC knowledgeable friend of mine, and for reasons relating to a renewed hope for FASC, this 3 yr old incident came back to my mind, so I included it in that email...here it is taken from that email which I sent a week or so ago:
3 years ago in Chinese Restaraunt.....I opened my fortune cookie after dinner and it said:
"A financial investment you have made will reward
you Handsomely"
......My wife and I had a good laugh but we couldn't help fantasizing for a few moments about FASC.......My Daughter whose 9th birthday the dinner was celebrating, had been playing with one of a pair of absoulutely normal dice from our monopoly game. .........in a very confident voice she said; "I'm
going to roll this die 4 times and it's going to come up 4
all 4 times, AND if it does your cookie fortune is going to
come true...!
I felt bad for her and told her not to even try,
that the odds of predicting a specific number AND then
rolling 4 of that exact number in a row were more
than astronomical.
She said for me not to worry. She then
proceeded to roll the die 4 seperate and single times.
the first roll was a 4 and I was surprised but I
laughed and assured her that her next roll would NOT be a 4, .....the second roll WAS a 4 and I was somewhat shocked, I asked her not to roll any more so that she wouldn't be hurt and have her sense of "magic" spoiled...... She rolled a third time and it came up 4....unbelievable..I was shaken! But even
MORE unbelievable was her fourth roll which came
up.......4...!!!! This story is absolutely true and
the die was absolutly normal, I DO swear
that.......what it means, I'm kind of afraid to
guess....or even really Hope out loud. I don't know if it's
"silly" or if it's astounding.....but fwiw, it's true....10-Z
