Muhlenberg County Site: US Fuel did not open escrow on the Central City, Muhlenberg County, Kentucky site in November 2012 as planned. In assessing the site, the issue of potential encroachment into federally protected wetlands was identified. In an attempt to site the facility in a way that would not impact those wetlands and to avoid adding a potentially expensive and time-consuming new element to the permitting process, US Fuel commissioned a topographical survey and then developed new site boundaries. That work was completed on November 28, 2012 and an offer to acquire the newly defined Central City site was submitted to the property owners on November 29, 2012. Negotiations are ongoing and the escrow to acquire the Central City site is expected to be opened in December 2012.
