Questioning the design of the rig and wether or not it is up to the task is a legitimate concern however those comments coming from posters in context of continual negativity is just for the sake of bashing amep. That said I must say that unless one sees the equipment first hand and also able to compare to other rigs regardless of age we cannot make an accurate assessment. There are always good and bad products built regardless of the time frame. This is where I place trust that management would not jeoprodize there business by buying inadequate equipment. As far as age is concerned I am sure that there is a lot of oil field machinery that has been brought out of mothballs from the collapse of the oil patch back in the eighties that is working just fine. I would guess that the biggest change from back then would be advancements in the quality and efficiency of the end tooling that actually does the drilling and that could be retro-fitted onto any model or brand of rig. Of all the concerns about amep I would say this issue is not top of my list.
