The prototype looks much, much better than the beta. The quality is good enough for most applications. There is still a bit of dithering and a tiny bit of choppiness at times - but not enough to matter.

So the advantage of the product is you only transcode your video once. As long as your target user isn't one of the 40% still using IE8 or lower... Corporations like the one I work for don't upgrade IE. Not only that but they lock their users into old versions of IE because newer ones don't work with certain company Java apps. We don't even let our users run IE9.

So Clipstream G2 is going to not even be viable for a lot of big corporations and the users that work there for several years IMO.

So I'd limit its usefulness to smaller corporations where they can upgrade their browser and to home users who can upgrade their browser.

So the question is how many competitors will they have by the time HTML5 browsers become universal? I don't know.
