FONAR Sells 38th Stand-Up MRI; Fourth Stand-Up MRI Sale in February; Customer Planning on Installing Three Scanners in Phoenix

MELVILLE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 6, 2003--FONAR Corporation (NASDAQ-FONR), The MRI Specialist(TM), announced today the sale its 38th Stand-Up(TM) MRI scanner to Stand-Up MRI of Arizona. The customer is planning to purchase and install three Stand-Up(TM) MRIs in Phoenix, Arizona. This purchase, the first of the three, represents FONAR's fourth sale for the month of February.

"The Stand-Up(TM) MRI is the only MRI that can scan patients in upright, weight-bearing positions and in their positions of pain or symptoms. We've seen case after case where the Stand-Up(TM) MRI has detected pathology that was missed on an ordinary lie-down MRI scanner."
