This board is for an implementation of a jpeg chart upload site to hold images from users, images they would like to include in their IHub posts.

Update 1:

I have built a site to help those that want keep their privacy but would like to upload some special chart via a snapshot of a region of their own screen or upload any jpg files. I like HyperSnap to do snapshot but many program will do the job but snapshot must be saved as jpg file only because my program perform web-ready compression and compress only jpg file.

That would be my contribution to AJTJ's thread and The Box thread. I will only accept for the moment normal posters on those thread because I'm not even sure how smoothly it will go.

Since over a month I study how to do this and I fond it's getting more and more affordable to have a personal web-site of let say 100M to 150M, for as low as $15/year for the site and $10/year for the domain-name plus an other $10/years for full privacy via Proxy-registration of the domain. Very great free software are available to manage such a site. For Ref. see http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=18&threadid=223977
If you ever elect to build one like mine, I will give you any help and advises I can.
Lately have seen this info: If you want to use free web space, there are many legitimate ones including yahoo briefcase, GMail, SpyMac (slow), Ofoto (photo site) and hriders (very slow but large storage). For you to discover.

I've built http://WWW.Bacchus-II.com/image and if you go there click registration and make your username the same as your nickname on IHub plus any pw and give any dummy e-mail address (I won't send e-mail anyway). If you're a usual AJTJ's or The Box's thread poster( let say, at least once a week), then I will activate your account and build for you a category (directory) having this same nickname and I ask you to upload only in your directory although I can't restrict you to do so. That's all. I imagine we can share the same setup for 50 to 200 peoples. We'll see.

Please if interested, follow-up on this board in order to avoid polluting AJTJ's thread and The Box thread.

Also, make a reply here to one of my post in order to wake me up that you have requested a user id on the Bacchus-II.com site and I’ll go there to do my job to enable you there. It will also indicate to me that it's really you that made that request.

Update2:

When your category (folder) is made, you’re ready to upload. Juste go in your folder, click on UPLOAD (up right corner), then for “IMAGE FILE” click browse, up to your local jpg file you want upload, skip Thumbnail File, juste give an Image Name and finally click Submit at the bottom. That’s all.

Now DON’T use the displayed image resulting from the Submit as source for your Ihub [ chart ] inclusion because this one is in temporary file. Go back in your Folder and then select your last uploaded image and use this last one as source.

I include a modified ChipA’s how-to here from #board-1277

How to add a chart to your iHub posts:

1.) Create the chart on StockCharts. [ed Of course here you simply display your image.]
2.) Right click on the image, select "Properties" from the popup menu that appears.
3.) Right click on the "http://Bacchus-ii.com/..." link in the middle of the dialog box that appears and choose "Select All" from the popup menu.
4.) Right click again on that same link and select "Copy" from the popup menu.
5.) Create your message for InvestorHub. Right click inside your message where you want the chart to appear and select "Paste" from the dropdown.
6.) IMPORTANT: Replace the letters "http://" at the front of the link with the word "chart" surrounded by square brackets - i.e., "[-chart-]" (only don't type the hyphens!)
7.) Finally, add the letters "[-/chart-]" (again, no hyphens!) to the end of the link.

That should be all. I may ask you to not let your folder getting too big with too old unimportant images in order to keep room. Let average at a max 1.5 Meg maximum per users. But you will be surprise how efficient automatic web-ready compression is performed during upload. See it in the properties of the picture while you create your Ihub posts. I support also GIF file but compression don’t work and auto Thumbnail File are nor created.

Good luck.
