Here's a thought. Could much of this relentless selling simply be investors rushing for the exits in order to book their capital gains in 2012 on the reasonable assumption that 2013 and beyond will be much more hostile to such income? If so, the rebound in 2013 would likely be dramatic as the focus shifts to the Federal Reserve, fiscal cliff, money supply, inflation, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

So, what can we postulate for the new year? Here are some distinct possibilities that would bode well for SLW.

1. The world situation will continue to deteriorate.
2. Political posturing in the U.S. WILL continue.
3. Fiscal issues will be kicked down the road in some manner.
4. The Fed will continue creating massive amounts of fiat money.
5. Governments around the world will continue to follow suit.
6. Inflation could easily accelerate.
7. Investors will be looking for safe havens and wealth protection.
