Lightyear Announces Changes

LOUISVILLE, Ky., November 5, 2012 — Lightyear Network Solutions, Inc. (the “Company”) (OTC Markets: LYNS), an established provider of data, voice and wireless telecommunication services to business and residential customers throughout North America, today announced that it will be consolidating some of its Kentucky operations and eliminating approximately 15 positions across the company.
“We regret the need to reduce employment. We understand the disruptions that this change causes in personal lives and in our community,” said Stephen M. Lochmueller, Lightyear’s Chief Executive Officer. “However, as business conditions continue to be challenging, especially in Appalachia, we must find ways to be more cost-efficient. Further consolidation of our teams allows us to reduce costs without sacrificing the high quality of service for our many customers.”
Randy Ammon, Lightyear’s Chief Operating Officer, added, “None of these changes will negatively impact our ability to provide quality service to our customers. In fact, by consolidating more of our operations, we’re able to enhance the service level for many customers. Effective today, all business customers in Eastern Kentucky now have 24×7 availability to report service-affecting issues.”
