I lost about $10,000 several years ago when a similar story came out on Emulex (was EMLX, now ELX). Some jerk made out a bogus news story that they were restating earnings for the past few years. Somehow he got it on the newswire. i didn't own EMLX, but a competitor, QLGC. These things had a tendency to go up or down 20 points in a day (I once owned EMLX and got a 100 point move on EMLX in a few weeks time). I sold QLGC in sympathy because they would always move together. By the time it came out it was bogus, the damage had been done. I bought back and the tech bubble busted. it was nothing I could do. It was one of the best things that ever happened to me though. you live and learn.
