Republicans still talking about entitlement reform, and why they lost the election (immigration reform)...It may take the threat of going over the fiscal cliff, having to raise the debt ceiling, and the expiration of Bush Tax cuts to relearn the fine art of political compromise. Boehners inability to get enough repubicans to sign on board to the grand deal last year showed how split the GOP is. The reality is, that now the 2012 elections are over, Dems don't have to worry about retaining the senate or presidency for another term. GOP better start worrying about the 2014 midterm elections instead of 2016. They have the most to lose from voter disatisfaction. Obama may surprise me and extend Bush Tax cuts, and/or dilute the other impacts of the fiscal cliff. Personally I think that lame duck congress will underperform, stay at home for the holidays, review thier portfolios and adjust for the shit storm to come. The smart ones will get liquid or invest in precious metals. The people that aren't so smart will stay in the stock market. IMO S~P
