IMO, this board could use a little irrational exuberance. Yes, we have a few who pound the table, but we also have a few who continually pour cold water on any momentary celebrating. To use Amrican football as analogy, on the way to a Superbowl victory high fives, air bumps, hugs aren't held back until the final moment of that game. There are 16 games where at the end of most, and another 3 or 4 in playoffs at the end of each where excessive celebration takes place. And that's not the only times. There are scores, large yardage gains, 1st downs, turnovers, sacks where high fives and hugs abound. Hell, I've seen excessive celebrating over an offsides call.

The announcement and PR this week is the equivalent of a single touchdown that puts the team ahead in one game over the course of a season, during a season in which the hometeam is on course to the playoffs and possibly a trip to the Superbowl. High fives and hugs may even be required in this moment.

If we are to hold back any celebration when the start of a new clinical trial is announced, then what moment warrants high fives?

Of what dreams are made.
