There are two ways I know of doing this...
The MM's can be buying shares at the bid, and when these shares are gone from Level 2, the bid drops...That is one way they accumulate shares at a lower price each time, by pushing the price down...
The other way is for the MM's to be selling shares short at the bid, and when all those shares disappear from that price level on Level 2, the bid will again drop...That's one way the MM's can make money...By shorting shares, and hoping they can push it down enough to buy them back at much lower prices...Bid whacking SUCKS...And we ARE seeing it here...
It's a crooked game, and retail customer's like us can't do this...Unless you have an offshore account in a foreign country...
If what I have heard is true about Berlin, Germany now being able to trade GZFX, that is not a good thing at ALL for us...Berlin is notorious for short selling American stocks...They are relentless on their attacks of targeted companies, and I have seen what they can do to hold back and drive down the pps of the stocks they short...
