I am not a fan of Powell - I think he does not have the sound instincts needed to lead on his own. Good examples of that are his continuing appeasement of arafat in the face of all the man's history, his advocacy of ending the first Gulf War, and his foolish decision to push for taking the Iraq question to the UN without first knowing where he stood with all the players.
