Alt: The vPod works because it does everything the prior iPods did plus adds features many of us won't mind having even if we don't use them. For me, the upgrade gives me 14 more hours of battery life from my Gen 3 40GB, gives me 20GB more space, which I badly needed, color capability. Now, I don't keep pictures, so I don't need that, and I won't watch much video on it, but I can if I need to and that's NICE.

I don't like paying for music video that was free before. But how many of them did I bother to view before anyway? Not so many! There will be TV shows I'll not catch on my TiVo that I might want to grab, rarely. The thing is that I like having features in reserve, to use if I need them, and I love the black color, the smaller size, the color screen, additional space, battery life. I don't love the lack of FireWire. That's a serious drawback to me, but the rest is ALL GOOD. :) I'm excited about my treat and can't wait till it arrives.
