Israel will help Kenya in establishing an aviation security system, including assistance in training Kenyan staffers. The Transportation Ministry yesterday issued a tender, the first of its kind, for providing "security consulting services for protecting a foreign airport." Kenya recently asked the ministry to open a scheduled route between the two countries. For Israel to agree to open this route it demands airport security that meets accepted international standards, as well as special Israeli standards. To ensure these levels of security the ministry published the tender for advisers to manage and run the Israeli side of the security operation, as well as training the Kenyan security staff. The ministry eclined to comment on the report. (Zohar Blumenkrantz)
