Google's approach on the Nexus phones seems to be aimed at the middle range of the market and the processors/cameras/flash reflect that. The Nexus phones sell for $350 unlocked and carriers can basically do the phone for free with a 2-year plan. On my daughters prev-gen Nexus phone, the performance is decent and she's happy with it. I don't think that it performs near what the high-end phones do.

The Nexus 7 is aimed at the cheap tablet market and performance is quite good for what I use it for.

I have no experience with the Nexus 10 line - don't even know if you can buy them yet.
