WAVE NEWS!!! - Wave Systems to pay $25 million to settle price fixing claim.


LEE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 12, 2005-- Wave Systems Corp. (NASDAQ:WAVX - News, www.wave.com - News) announced today that it has reached a settlement with the Justice Department to settle claims related to a series of allegedly monopolistic practices where Wave is accused of fixing the price of all of its products at zero.

Justice officials insist that such a portfolio of IP should necessarily be reaping millions in revs and as part of the settlement Wave Systems CEO Stephen Sprague has agreed to "Sell something for money, uh, in US dollars in the ‘marketplace’" as part of a remedy for its non-competitive practices.
