Well, obviously, the future is mobile. I think we could say that's a fact, not opinion at this point.

So, now consider if the market model has changed. Follow the money. That says that you need to control the infrastructure of the industry, not be a follower. In Intel's case, that means winning through integration. Here's the dichotomy: You can't integrate if you don't lead. So, that's an opinion, not a fact.

Intel has essentially tried to win through acquisition which bought them the basics to compete but that won't work for the long term. For the long term, you need to invent, and you can't invent until you vertically integrate. You see, this market moves too fast. So, if you don't want to change your market model and move with it, you end up integrating what's old. That means very low margins. Not a win for Intel.

Also, I take issue with your comment here:

No component supplier has ever invented a good way to compete against their own customers.



I've said before, Intel has no customers in this market. That's an important distinction between the PC and post PC market.
