If you go back to my post # 96151 dated Monday, January 17, 2011 11:00:35 PM you will see that there are about 9,871,143 kg. of Thorium Dioxide in the Hawke Zone and another 32,232,305 kg. of Thorium Dioxide in the SE Zone. That's a total of 42,103,448 kg. at $300/kg. that's a street value of $12.63 billion.
For you Americans that's about 92.6 long tons. From the video 5,000 tons could fuel the energy needs of the world for a year. I don't know if he was referring to short or long tons of Thorium or Thorium Dioxide.
If you try to buy Thorium Dioxide off the shelf from a chemical supplier it's about $700 per kg. because it's not readily available. Once in production on a large scale the price could drop significantly.
Canada also has reactors that can use Thorium, they are called Candu 6 reactors. A colleague from work went next door to Atomic Energy of Canada and worked on developing these reactors for Canada.
These reactors can't be used to make the fuel for nuclear bombs, that's why they aren't popular in America.
