Nonetheless, until the tech is market ready, management has been straight-arming away JV proposals on the grounds that they want too much equity in the patent portfolio. In resource jargon, the prospective partners want the mine, and Mr. Provini wants off-take agreements.

So, until those more beneficial JVs are in the offing, this pro-America stance is a lovely 'moral high ground' story, that's gotten us a lot of free publicity, and some high profile government activism from Her Nibs the senator.

Is Mr. Provini's "Made In America" stance boyscout idealism, or something more canny?
