Another article which provides insight into the people running IMDS. Notice the similarities in claims.

Feds want breast cancer screening device seized

WED 06/12/1991 HOUSTON CHRONICLE, Section A, Page 22, 2 STAR Edition

Federal attorneys filed civil action Tuesday to force a Galleria-area clinic to forfeit a breast cancer screening device the Food and Drug Administration calls ineffective.

The device, Lintro-Scan, manufactured by Lintronics Industries Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., does not use the radiological elements used in X-rays.

"We're asking the court to condemn the product," Assistant U.S. Attorney Hays Jenkins said. "It is dangerous because it suggests to the public to forego mammograms," medicine's most widely accepted method for breast cancer screening. Texas Medical Clinics Inc., which primarily offers patients permanent cosmetic makeup, owns one of the machines, and clinic attorney Roger Broach said it has caused no patient complaints.

"It has found things mammograms could not find," Broach said. "It's never hurt anybody. In fact, it has saved lives."(SOUND FAMILIAR?)

The suit says the machine is ineffective for early detection of breast cancer, as an alternative to X-ray mammography and in distinguishing benign and malignant breast conditions.

It also seeks forfeiture of any literature Texas Medical Clinics used to promote the device.

Broach said the clinic has not used the device since Lintronics officials reported several weeks ago other seizure actions had been filed against clinics in Wisconsin and Georgia.

Lintronics officials could not be reached for comment.
