Andy's rant...

I totally despise (in no particular order) stupidity, drama, & exageration.

Someone posted the following link which declares that Synacor income fell by 127% last quarater, from Q3 2011 YOY.

http://www.nasdaq.com/article/synacor-inc-q3-profit-falls-127--20121024-01778#.UIiDHuN5soo

I don't know who the author is, because he didn't take credit. I'm going to call him Mr. Idiot for the following reasons.

The title of the article is: Synacor, Inc. Q3 Profit Falls 127 %

And then, right below it, in the first sentece, Mr. Idiot writes:
"Synacor, Inc. (SYNC), Authenticator of online content delivered across mediums, on Wednesday reported third quarter net income of $652,000 or $0.02 per share, compared to $1.48 million or $0.07 per share last year."

This is the math I was taught:
If we start off with profits of $1.48MIL, and that drops by 127%, there is now a net loss of $400,000.
And, if we start off with profits of $1.48MIL, and that drops by 56%, there is now a net profit of $652,000.

Mr. Idiot, there is a difference between profits dropping by 127% and profits dropping by 56%.

Mr. Idiot, there is a difference between losing $400,000 and profiting $652,000. If you don't know the difference, give me $1,052,000 out of your retirement, and you might finally understand.

Mr. Idiot, I think you should crack open a 5th algebra book, because you clearly are NOT "smarter than a 5th grader".

Mr. Idiot, I think you obviously need an editor who has half a brain! In fact, I think you should allow someone else to pick the article captions for you.

All My Opinion (and rants).
Good luck to all,
