I visited my local TDAmeritrade office yesterday and filled out their paperwork to have the restriction removed from my dividend shares. Today the local office calls me and says she just got a call from their "back office" who said the cost of unrestricting the shares ( 50. + 55. for transfer agent fee) would be more than the shares are worth, did I still want to unrestrice them?
I replied that the shares are trading at ten cents each so they are worth much more than the 105.00 I am being charged to remove the restriction. And no, I have not changed my mind since yesterday, I DO want the paperwork processed and the restriction removed.
I guess their "back office" is challenged when simple math is involved.
