Len, Bobwins I have a gasoline theory?

I think the gasoline numbers got twisted around after Rita!

Here goes:

After Katrina gas prices spiked big time. When the press said Rita was going to take out all of the refineries as a cat 4 or 5 consumers went to the gas station and filled up all of their vehicles, and in some case spare cans. (I confess I did). On top of that every gas station from TX gulf to Mobile was sucked dry. In the past 2 weeks all of that gas was either burned and people had to fill up, and gas stations filled up. This would cause low consumption right after Rita followed by increased demand now.

How many cars are on the road every day, 125 million? 125 million times an extra 5 gallons is 625 million gallons. 10 gallons is 1.25 billion total!

Just a thought.
