excerpt: Certification Readiness Testing is a DT&E test conducted to provide quantitative evidence that a system meets (or fails to meet) the performance requirements prior to certification testing. This test is conducted in stages, in order to grow the candidate equipment performance so that it will be robust enough to have a good probability of passing the certification test. While certification may take only a few weeks to administer, Certification Readiness testing may take several months to a year of hard lab work with the industry partner to mature the candidate explosives detection system.
IMSC has already done the arduous work of passing the Certification Readiness Testing. We now wait for the final certification test to be complete.
