I agree with you in that post... except that you've understated it significantly, first by focusing only on the cell carriers as they exist now, and on more recent impacts in the pace of adoption in the emergence of smart phones, and again by assuming they'd be natural cooperators, or the only possible cooperators.

When the patent came out, CLYW was trying to position as an significant ALTERNATIVE to cell carriers... and could and should have supplanted them as the primary consumer interface... while delivering massive savings to consumers, and driving huge efficiencies, long ago, that we're STILL suffering from not having.

The capability would have made CLYW the lowest cost provider, by far, with huge advantages that would have significantly challenged the financial survivability of much of the vastly more expensive cell phone system... as it was still being built out... which is what real competition is SUPPOSED to do...

Not only have CLYW shareholders been screwed big time, consumers have been gouged out of BILLIONS and BILLIONS as a result...

Among the other impacts on the market... adoption would have dramatically accelerated the adoption of wifi technology, with a massive financial driver...

Also, it's not obviously clear that cellular ever would have ended up BEING the dominant power in the resulting mobile industry structure, rather than satellites, or some other internet based linkage (developed by CLYW, funded by 923 revenues) that would have used different frequencies than wifi, only without ever needing to use the phone company provided "cellular" backbone at all... ?

And, the resulting issues don't end there...

The industry is continuing to try to impose new "conditions" that undermine and subvert the potential for competition... including, recently, conning the FCC into adopting unconstitutional rules that are intended to enable and ensure the wrongful RESULT we're discussing... is continued as a function of dictat through government policy... by REQUIRING that the phone providers will get FREE use of internet facilities that others pay for... while offloading toll traffic they charge for... onto those facilities that they don't own, control, or pay for the use of...

Validating 923 has to occur, now... just to prevent that additional attempted theft from succeeding in implementation... or there will be additional irreparable harm done...
