All that means to me is that a merger has taken place



Merger with what? An empty shell? You keep forgetting the main patents are owned by Mrs. Grable. The CTLM is non-existent without her patents. If she sells, she isn't going to share any of her profits with IMDS, lol.

There is nothing to merge with, except a bloated OS empty shell.
