There is a simple rationale as to why this is and I think once they have enough of the big BP's signed up, it will be followed by the BP's keyword advertisements; something like cola (Word) is to Coke-a-Cola (Name) and tissue (word) is to Scott Paper Products (Name), etc., etc., etc.
