Yes Softbank of Japan wants to buy a majority stake into Sprint. Their main reason for doing so from what I have been hearing is they want a chunk of clearwire. They said that clearwires spectrum is of big interest to them. LTE is going to take the world by storm starting next year and clearwire has a ton of spectrum.
