I've been reading the back n forth re: MMs and their alleged manipulation. Can't say I have any definitve proof one way or the other. But knowing how a lot of things work in the world, I'm much more inclined to agree with w/ stemcell that they are simply computer programs programmed algorithmically so respond to conditions.
The idea of a guy there trying to manipulate in 98% of the market strikes me as far-fetched. Everyone wants to belive they are losing money at the hands of shady, nebulous 3rd party entities (not their own decisions).
Also knowing human nature, I'm sure there are occasions that present themselves from time to time (the other 2%) that people lacking character would be tempted to use their power to manipulate, but only when high profits & minimum risk made it feasible.
