When we shipped our concentrate to Johnson Mathey it went in a 1 gallon paint can by the US Postal Service. It usually contained about 1500 ounces or 2 weeks production at 1200 tons/day.

Also it was cheaper to truck our ore from Elko NV to Republic WA (750 miles) than to a mill 20 miles away due to a better toll milling contract in the away mill. We made more money in the longer shipping than staying close to home. Trucking is not that expensive compared to milling and recovery of the gold from the ore.
