Actually, I woke up from the dream of the holy grail of || computing some ten years ago. :)

I'm not saying we should not work in this direction, it is just || code does not work for sequential problems (yes I know you can do a lot of speculative things in hard- and software). And we have a lot of serial problems to deal with.

In terms of hardware, well, yes, maybe we should go back to before von Neumann architecture and start from scratch on a fundament of understanding the problem's natures in terms of sequentiality, then try to find a migration path for the codebases out there and design an appropriate architecture.

But well, flying to Mars looks like a piece of cake in comparison. :)
