APDN has already marked SRI's microchips

Based on the following information, We can confirm that SRI international is a client of APDN

APDN has already marked microchips produced in the DLA's Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) program (which was done at SRI) in the first stage. This is what mentioned in the Timeline of Implementation of DNA Marking from DLA slide show (by catherine metz). It says by August 2012, Phase 1 should be completed.

Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM)
SRI’s Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) program provides a permanent solution to the problem of microelectronics obsolescence. Use of GEM devices prevents production shutdown while maintaining system integrity, substantially reducing operation/sustainment costs, and increasing semiconductor and microcircuit aftermarket potential.
GEM – DOD and SRI
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) developed GEM technology with SRI more than 25 years ago as a continuing source of form, fit, function, and interface (F3I) replacements. Using SRI’s onsite design, test, and foundry capabilities, the Qualified Manufacturers List (QML) certified GEM program manufactures military-quality replacements for non-procurable microcircuits. This method establishes support for production, redesign, and sustainment requirements throughout the life of the system.

Trusted DoD Integrated Circuit Foundry:
SRI’s secure, on-shore wafer foundry produces military-quality microelectronics for the Department of Defense (DoD) and other U.S. government users

For more than 40 years, SRI’s wafer foundry has offered silicon processing for a diverse array of technologies. SRI is a certified QML manufacturer for integrated circuits produced by the Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) program. All GEM microcircuits are delivered in compliance with the requirements of MIL-PRF-38535. This includes complete traceability, total compliance with customer procurement requirements, and delivery with a certificate of conformance.

In 2007 the DoD Trusted Access Program Office (TAPO) accredited SRI’s wafer foundry as a DoD Category 1 Trusted Foundry. SRI also earned the Defense Supply Center Columbus Supplier Excellence Gold Award for maintaining the highest performance standards. The wafer foundry enables technical self-sufficiency, with capabilities from design to manufacturing that can all be performed in-house.

GEM & DNA marking & APDN & SRI

The DLA mandate for SigNature DNA will be implemented in a staged fashion, to ensure a smooth transition for the industry providers of microcircuits falling into FSC 5962, as noted by DLA. In the first stage, already accomplished and consistent with the mandate, SigNature DNA is on the microchips produced in the DLA's Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) program.
