Angel Stanz is the person I spoke with initially. He wrote this message:

If we have spoken in the past, excuse this brief introduction. My name is Angel Stanz. I am the owner/architect and Chief Technical Officer of BudGenius.com. The BudGenius technology has been, up until now, under license to John Montgomery for his sales and marketing efforts.

It has come to my recent attention that Mr. Montgomery has been engaged in corporate fraud, dishonesty to BudGenius clientele, unacceptable client delays, and misrepresentation of the BudGenius product. For several weeks an internal investigation has been quietly underway to document these actions. Sufficient evidence has now been gathered.

Today, processes have occurred to shut down the ability of Mr. Montgomery and his company(s) to continue testing under the banner of the BudGenius.com brand. This notification is to include all services provided from the 2506 Santa Monica Boulevard, Santa Monica, CA location. The list of license violations is extensive and currently under legal review. As a result of this suspension you may experience a brief interruption in testing availability from BudGenius.com. Services for new orders will be restored within 72 hours. For clients expecting immediate results, your orders are currently processing. Please contact us to ensure that we have your full order details. Although we regret any inconvenience you may temporarily incur, these actions have been taken to protect you, your collective, and the continuation of BudGenius.com services.

For some of you, this may be an alarming occurrence. For others who have experienced repeated service delays, you will see this as a welcomed evolution. I kindly ask all clients to maintain your confidence in the BudGenius brand and the BudGenius software through the next few weeks while we restore the timely accurate results you deserve and rightly expect. Additionally, there are new features that I am truly excited to be offering you this month that we’ve been holding back in releasing. My phone and email are open to you, and I welcome any questions that you may have.

You will undoubtedly be contacted by Mr. Montgomery in an attempt to shift your business to a competitive laboratory under his sales direction. We honor that your decisions are yours to make. Please tread very carefully and request documentation for all claims that are purported. My team is prepared to offer the same in return.

Yes. Fraud is quite alarming from a company I expect third party verification from. Sounds like plenty of customers have already pulled up stakes and have had issues with delays and drama. At least now they know why…but it gets so much better. Here are pieces from the response from “Mr. Montgomery” that are simply priceless:

This is in response to the email you all received on Saturday from our disgruntled ex employee Angel Stanz.

First and foremost I want to apologize for having your company dragged into Bud Genius issues. This is very embarrassing for me and my staff. I had quite a few of accusations in the email he sent out, which each and every one is completely false. I am the owner of Bud Genius, Inc, Aaron/Angel was my employee.

So here’s what’s going on; I recently fired Angel Stanz / Aaron Stanz (same person, goes by two different names, that should tell you a lot) last week as my head programmer due to being absence for weeks. Godaddy is in the middle of transferring my domain name www.budgenius.com back to me, this will be done by mid week. Angel tried to put the domain under his name before termination, and is the only reason why he was able to send that email via a budgenius.com email address. This is why i am sending this email from the other bud genius email address. PLEASE NOTE: ALL EMAILS TO ME SHOULD COME TO .NET UNTIL DOMAIN IS TRANSFERRED!

Back to the drama; all equipment, software, and complete company are owned solely by me “John Montgomery”. Until the police get the domain back under our control, I ask for you understanding. The attachment is the articles of incorporation for your review to squash any doubt of ownership! He is going by budgenius.com as his company name until the ownership of the domain is transferred back, please understand there is no company Budgenius.com registered, this is a FAKE company name….

The Santa Monica police department has an “active” search going on for Aaron / Angel Stanz. File number 11-38794. Anyone with any known whereabouts needs to contact the Santa Monicapolice department Officer Ramirez at 310-458-8495. If any companies are found doing business with Angel / Aaron Stanz they will unfortunately be found right in the middle of this case and will be forced to testify during this process (please stay clear of him, you do not need this drama involved in your business).

Aaron / Angel Stanz is not hard to find, he is 6 feet 1 with long dreadlocks, and piercings throughout his face (hard to miss) again if you see or hear from him please contact the Santa Monicapolice department. He is currently bouncing from couch to couch in hopes of collecting money from dispensaries to get him out of state and back to Florida. He will most likely be accompanied by Tom Patton, I’m sure will be the one contacting you and trying to sell you on testing. They are currently using a P.O. Box as their address. Please do not be fooled, the “state street” address in Santa Barbara listed on the website is a po box and not an actual physical address.

Unfortunately I am not the only victim of Angel Stanz; please feel free to Google Aaron Stanz US Credit Find. It shows that the Illinois attorney general sued him for fraud, and several other attorney generals currently have suits pending. Thousands of customers throughout the country have filed complaints online for your review as well. As this is VERY alarming, please rest assure I am confident he will be brought to justice very soon!

This is no joke and unfortunately I’m just finding this all out! I am very displeased with myself for not doing my “due diligence” before introducing him to this industry and for that I sincerely apologize.

I am sure Angel will be sending email blasts out telling you that everything is ok and to “trust him”, the servers are located overseas that is the only reason the website is still up and running as of this morning.

I know, right! Hella drama. Now all of these clients who thought they were getting a decent cheap service have found out that the organization is wrought with fraud and are now in the middle of an investigation or something. Whoa, Nellie! I cannot say enough how important it is to use reputable and tried and true services in this industry. Unfortunately this is a common occurence with some fledgling organizations and often it is the collective, patents, and the rest of us that get caught in the middle of the bullshit. As a smart-ass writer I think it is funny, but if I have been giving these guys my money to do some testing and was receiving these emails, I would be livid. So find the people who have done the work, and not just the person with the shiniest toys and cheapest service. That can end up backfiring big time…..just ask all those “weGrow” customers. LOL. Be smart out there.
