Just to let everyone know who was weary- I sent kate a message this morning asking for detailed specs of new servers specs... She has kindly posted that information on the Facebook page but ill share it here as well...


Here’s what our new (top-of-the-line) server looks like:
Intel Xeon X3330 @ 2.66GHz x 4
8GB of RAM
500GB of disk space on RAID 1
8TB of bandwidth per month

Again, this is easily 'stackable' for future growth. This server ‘runs’ the site – we use many other resources for storage and backup (e.g., Amazon S3 and Mozy). We do this for two main reasons: 1. Added security of not housing all data together in one location and 2. Duplicate backsups through different companies means we’ll never lose users’ data. We’re still waiting for DNS propagation to (finally) take place, but we want you all to know we’re working diligently to get back online. We miss our VIBE!
