Why would 500 locals in the Bibiani area ingaged in 'NON LEGAL MINING' or TRESSPASSING on other Gold Mine property's agree to quit this 'NOT LEGAL' ACTIVITY

Maybe they wanted to stay out of jail for participating in NON LEGAL MINING. (I bet they were never thinking about going to jail.)

Maybe they were offered a 10% pay raise. (I bet they were never thinking about making more money.)

No one knows the real answer. Just hypotheticals, which are baseless bits of info trying to lure someone in.
