I recall one stock that had been a fully SEC-reporting OTCBB company that got off of the grey market after about three years. I believe there are others, but I don't have the names.
Someone asked me to look at KMAG a few months ago wondering if it was legitimate. I didn't have time to do a thorough review but responded that it was a very bad sign to have so many paid promotions going. I didn't continue to follow it, but there are usually very serious issues when the SEC suspends a company.
KMAG and the others suspended today will definitely be grey market caveat emptor stocks within a few days. When the suspension lifts, no market makers will be allowed to publish bids or asks.
There is often a state of shock and denial for shareholders in suspended stocks. It's common to believe that it was some sort of mistake and that if the company provides certain information, it will all be cleared up quickly. That is never the case.
