The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission said that it temporarily suspended
trading in the shares of 16 more companies September 17 2012.
The suspensions are part of a broader crackdown this year, which has resulted in
a record 609 suspensions so far during 2012.
The SEC has halted trading of numerous noncompliant companies, citing reasons
such as a lack of current and accurate information, as it ramps up efforts to crack down on fraud.
