Distro - that is correct. Ali was the SVP of Finance and IR however, I believe he was their most senior Finance exec. They could have promoted him to CFO but didn't and instead hired someone else. Does a small company really need two exec. level Finance people? I don't think so. I am hoping Ali gets fired once the other guy gets up to speed.

One other idea is it may have been done to qualify for the revolving line of credit. I really don't think Ali is a Finance guy and maybe the bank wanted someone with experience doling out the cash...not someone like Ali who speaks out both sides of his mouth.
